Successful IPDC workshop on frequency
issues for DVB-H, Copenhagen 27 September 2005 -

Workshop on frequency availability for DVB-H in Europe

Frequency planning for the Digital Terrestrial Television services is
ongoing in Europe both within the CEPT and the ITU.

At the same time a number of technical and market related trials with DVB-H are conducted with successful results in European countries.

It has also been indicated by a number of European administrations that spectrum in the new television plan should be used for DVB-H type of systems.

European wide initiatives have been taken by the European Commission to advance the digital switch over from analogue to digital technology which is important for implementation of DVB-H type of services.

The IP Datacast Forum and the BMCO Forum therefore invites you to a Joint Workshop in Copenhagen to consider spectrum implications of Mobile Broadcasting and DVB-H.

The workshop will take place on Tuesday 27th September 2005 at the ERO:

European Radiocommunications Office
Nansensgade 19
DK 1366 Copenhagen
Denmark

As indicated in the attached agenda for the workshop administrations, industry and operators as well as the European Commission will provide their view on the frequency availability for DVB-H services in Europe.

The workshop will start at 09:00 in the morning and will end in the
afternoon in time for the administration-participants to go to Geneva for the IPG meeting or back home as appropriate.

Please use the ERO registration form

We look forward to welcoming you in Copenhagen for further discussions about DVB-H.
